Nic's first solo exhibition, 'Peninsula,' shown at the Everard Read Gallery, Cape Town in 2013, focused on the botanical richness of the Cape Peninsula. Situated within the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest yet richest of the world's six Floral Kingdoms, these 34 sculptures reflect an outstanding diversity.
For this show, concessions from land-owners on the peninsula enabled Nic to harvest such rarities as a Blue disa and the endemic Serruria villosa, as well as various species of Amaryllis, Protea and Erica, amongst others.
